Very sad to hear of the death of Len Aldis. I knew Len well during many years as chair of Tower Hamlets Stop the War. He was a stalwart of CND in the locality, and heavily involved in the Britain/Vietnam friendship society. He raised large amounts of money and solidarity for people who had been, and continued to be victims of Agent Orange. While me and Len had disagreements about tactics and politics, he never let those come in the way of trying to build a bigger peace movement and was always respectful of other people’s ideas. I remember him with fondness and offer my condolences to his friends in CND, in the pensioners movement and in the Vietnam solidarity campaigns.
